Whoever came up with the idea for bread pudding deserves a major award. You take bread so stale it could have no edible purpose, soak it in milk, bake it, and somehow you get PUDDING. That is some serious genius.
Typically bread pudding makes me think of winter–it just kind of goes with cozy fires and mulled wine. But this wonderful strawberries and cream version from Isa Does It is perfect for summer. I definitely recommend the “optional” glaze (when is a sugar glaze ever optional?), and I garnished it with some toasted coconut as well.
Enjoy. I’m off to try to figure out if there is anything else that has gone bad in my pantry and can be revived into something delicious.
